What is a Virtual Assistant?

Utilizing advanced technological modes of communication and data delivery, a professional VA assists clients in his/her area of expertise from his/her own office on a contractual basis.

I have been using a computer every day for the past 25 years!  My expertise includes 20 years as a Mechanical Designer using AutoCAD, owning and managing every aspect of an Accredited  Vocational School for 11 years and seven years of website design and graphic arts.

Owner / School Director
Performed all functions of managing a private Vocational Drafting school.
Achieved state licensing, accreditation, Title IV Federal financial aid, approval for Veterans training and participation in Workforce Investment Act (WIA) training.

 

Training

  • Developed curriculum and instructed students in AutoCAD and Mechanical Drafting.

  • Created student progress reports and transcripts in Excel, tracked student’s time and attendance, and organized training seminars.

 

Policy & Procedure Writing

  • Developed and documented all admissions & enrollment procedures.

  • Wrote school policies and procedures manual for admissions, placement assistance, student suspension & termination and disbursing of financial aid.

  • Wrote personnel policies and school policies (i.e. attendance & dress code).

 

Administration

  • This required setting up and administering a database to access this information.

 

Website Design

  • Developed and administered websites for Precision Technical Institute and various other organizations and individuals.

  • Websites included Flash animations, feedback forms, Adobe Acrobat files, message boards and photo galleries.

  • Created graphics and animations used in websites.

  • Set up and maintained Precision Technical Institute’s email accounts.

  • Was in charge of keeping all CAD systems up and running for an engineering department of 40 engineers and designers.
  • Wrote the Drafting and CAD standards manual for the department based on ASMY Y-14.5 standards.

  • Created various drawings for the robotics industry.
  • Drawings included machined parts drawings, technical illustration for customer manuals, assembly drawings, electronic schematics, cable assemblies and hydraulic schematics using AutoCAD R14 and Pro/Engineer 3D solid modeling.
